Wood Screws have either Phillips of slotted drive and in each drive type there are three head types; flat head, round head and oval head. The round head and flat head styles are most popular and there are more sizes to choose from these two head styles.
Drywall Screw generally comes in Phillips drive although there are some square recess drive types. They may also be called by their trade name Twinfast at times. The standard sharp point unit comes in either coarse or fine thread. There are also sharp point, high-low types, self drill point types and trim types.
Particle Board Screw have Phillips drive and a bugle head. They generally have a black phosphate finish.
The Deck Screws comes in Phillips drive or square recess drive. They are bugle head. The internal ones are silver colored dacrotized steel and there are stainless steel ones for external use.
The basic Framing Screw comes in Phillips drive, pan head, fine thread, sharp point and black phosphate finish. However, there is also a Phillips drive with special pan head and self drilling. The Phillips wafer head reamer with wings and self drill point can be found on this page of our web site.
Dowel Screws are either full or partial thread. The full thread unit appears to be threaded its entire length from one end. The partial thread unit appears to be threaded counterclockwise from one end and clockwise from the other end with dead space in the middle.
The Hanger Bolts are sometimes called hanger screws. They have wood screw threads from one end and machine threads from the other end. They may have full threads where there is essentially no space between the wood threads and the machine threads or they may be partial threaded where there is some blank space between the wood threads and the machine threads.
Most generally the Lag Screws is called that but sometimes people call it a lag bolt because it has both a hex head and hex drive. It comes in zinc plated steel, hot dipped galvanized steel and 18-8 stainless steel.
Compatible Lag Screw Shields can also be found on this web site although a larger variety of anchors can be found at Aaron's Anchors store.
